About
When we decided to split the Hurricane Mk.I Special into two parts, we naturally assumed that the split would be roughly in the middle of the Mk.I production run. However, the facts are that the Hurricane changed the most during the initial L and N Series, so by the time the mid-P Series were being produced, pretty much everything was in place and there was very little difference between a mid-P Series and a late Z Series Mk.I.
So we decided to fill Part One with those early series, covering all the mods and improvements and left Part Two for everything else, including all the close-up detail pages which we had no room for in Part One. Therefore, this book covers mid-P Series to the Z Series, which is approximately Battle of France to 1941.
At the back of the book there is a series of detail pages which cover mods right from the beginning of production. Obviously, some of these are more relevant to Part One but we hope you understand our reasons for including them in this one instead of chopping many interesting pages in the first part.
We’ve also included the handy reference guide to equipment mods from Part One on the inside back page as this is a very useful chart for any modeller wondering what bits to include or exclude.
We decided again to keep both books focused only on UK based aircraft as we plan to cover overseas Hurricane operations in a future book.

…and of course, there are six full colour profiles along with the approx 120 original wartime photos.
